Darkness and light 2

So the next several deviations I'll be putting up will be some of the work I did for my various art classes. Now that I have a digicam, I can actually share this work with you guys. It's very exciting. I've found that I have a facination with light and how it casts shadows and how light sources interact with objects in darkness and well...just all things concerning light. This image is the second experement I completed involving light. The idea was to get the idea across of a raven behind the candle having highlights from the candle light but otherwise fading into the darkness. I really like how it came out. It's especially cool when viewed by lamp light.

You may recognize the raven from a photo I took and posted earlier entitled 'it's cold outside", and you may note that the flame of the candel is a birch leave. those who were paying attention will remember a piece called "on light and birch" hopefully I don't have to explain any further.
